Building Emotional Confidence At Home
Small everyday routines can help children become more aware of their feelings and more confident when asking adults for support.

Emotional confidence grows through repetition. A short check-in at breakfast or bedtime — “Which face is yours today?” — turns feelings into an ordinary part of family life.
Celebrate the asking, not just the outcome. When a child says “I need a hug,” thank them for telling you. They learn that reaching out works.
Keep P.A.T.C.H.E.S. somewhere easy to reach, and let your child choose when to use him. Comfort works best when it is offered, not required.
